Cass Panuska

Cass Panuska is a classically trained singer and teacher who is passionate about sharing the gift of music. At New World Music Academy, she teaches Children’s Chorus as well as private and group voice lessons and applies classical technique to a variety of singing styles.

As a professional opera singer, she continues to pursue an active performing career.  Her favorite performed opera roles include Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Miss Silverpeal in The Impresario, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Laurie in Copland’s The Tender Land, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, the Bergère and Screech Owl in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges.  Cass has completed several prestigious vocal training programs, such as Opera at Crested Butte in Colorado and the CoOPERAtive Program at Westminster Choir College in New Jersey.  She performed with the Andrea Fulton Chorale at Yosemite’s Bracebridge Dinner, and has played the role of Gretel in Opera San Jose’s Outreach production of Hänsel and Gretel.

Cass earned her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at Colorado State University. After teaching at NWMA from 2009 until 2012, she took a break to start a family. Now with two young boys and a husband who sings with San Francisco Opera Chorus, she is back with us at NWMA and we could not be happier.  Welcome back Cass!

Angela Hayes

Angela Hayes can do it all! Angela is a classically trained vocalist, a versatile performer, and a passionate instructor of music and maintains a career in performing jazz, folk, pop, Broadway, opera, and sacred music.  Having one foot planted solidly in performance, and the other in arts education, she is a regular instructor from San Francisco to San Jose, and all points in between.  Angela is passionate about performance, music outreach programs, and composing opera for young people.  She is equally passionate about helping students nurture and enjoy their own unique voices.  Her teaching experience is extensive in both individual and group sessions, ranging from children’s choruses, vocal and musical theatre camps, pop workshops, and private lessons for the very young all the way to the young at heart.  In addition to opera and musical theater performing, Angela serves as a cantor for Saint Ignatius Church, and maintains a voice studio at the University of San Francisco.  She holds a BA in Music with an emphasis in Sacred Music Studies from Brevard College, and an MM in vocal Performance from Wichita State University. Angela is proud to be a NATS member and teacher who is also highly sought after as a musical theater vocal technician.
